Hair Transplant in Turkey
for American Patients
The same FDA-approved techniques used in the US — at a fraction of the cost. Over 1,000 patients from across the globe treated by Dr. Merdan Çelik MD.
Average US hair transplant: $12,000–$20,000 | You save: $9,000–$13,000
Why American Patients Choose Turkey for Hair Transplants
The United States has some of the finest hair transplant surgeons in the world — but also some of the highest prices. A single FUE session at a reputable American clinic typically runs between $12,000 and $20,000. In Turkey, accredited clinics deliver the identical procedure, using identical equipment, at around €1,990 all-inclusive. That is not a compromise — it is simply a different cost structure.
FDA-Approved Techniques
FUE and DHI — the same methods practised at top US clinics — are the standard of care at Global Health Hair. No unproven shortcuts.
Internationally Accredited Clinic
Our Istanbul facility operates under Turkish Ministry of Health regulations equivalent to US Joint Commission standards.
USD-Friendly Pricing
All quotes available in USD. Pay by international bank transfer or credit card. No hidden fees.

From consultation to aftercare, every step is conducted in fluent English — no language barrier, ever.
What Does the Trip Actually Look Like?
Istanbul is surprisingly accessible from the United States. Most American patients find the journey straightforward and use the opportunity to combine the procedure with a day or two of sightseeing in one of the world’s great cities.
Flight Times from Major US Cities
- New York (JFK/EWR) → Istanbul (IST): approximately 10–11 hours direct (Turkish Airlines operates daily non-stop flights)
- Los Angeles (LAX) → Istanbul (IST): approximately 14–16 hours with one connection (typically via Amsterdam, Frankfurt, or Doha)
- Miami (MIA) → Istanbul (IST): approximately 12–13 hours with one connection
- Chicago (ORD) → Istanbul (IST): approximately 11–12 hours with one connection
Recommended Itinerary (5 Days Total)
Pro tip: Book a Tuesday or Wednesday procedure day — flights are cheaper mid-week and the clinic schedule is more flexible for US time zone patients arranging last-minute video consultations.
Is It Safe for American Patients?
Safety concerns are legitimate — and worth addressing directly. The Turkish hair transplant industry is large, and not every provider operates to the same standard. Here is why Global Health Hair is different.
Medical Doctor, Not a Technician
Dr. Merdan Çelik holds an MD (Tıp Doktoru) — a legally mandatory qualification for performing hair transplants in Turkey since 2015. Many cheaper clinics use technicians. We do not.
ISHRS Member
Dr. Çelik is a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) — the same professional body that certifies leading US surgeons.
Same Equipment as US Clinics
We use identical FUE micro-punch tools, DHI implanters, and sterile protocols to those found in New York or Los Angeles hair restoration centres.
1,000+ International Patients
Our patient base includes clients from the UK, Germany, Australia, and North America. Verified reviews available on Trustpilot and Google.
US vs Turkey: The Numbers Side by Side
Hair transplant pricing in the United States is driven by real estate costs, malpractice insurance, and clinic overheads — not by the complexity of the procedure or the skill of the surgeon. In Turkey, those costs are structurally lower.

Your 4-Day Process — Designed Around US Flight Schedules
We have treated hundreds of patients flying in from long-haul destinations. The logistics are well-practised. Flexible scheduling means we accommodate east coast arrivals (morning procedure next day) and west coast arrivals with an extra rest day at no charge.
Send photos via WhatsApp. Dr. Çelik’s team provides a graft estimate, technique recommendation, and quote — usually within 24 hours. US time zone calls available (EST/PST mornings = Istanbul afternoon).
We reserve your procedure slot with a small deposit. We then coordinate hotel and airport transfer around your flight schedule — not the other way around.
Full hair analysis, local anaesthesia, FUE or DHI extraction, implantation. Dr. Çelik is present throughout — not delegated to technicians. Duration: 6–8 hours depending on graft count.
Fly home 48 hours post-procedure. Your aftercare continues remotely: monthly check-ins via WhatsApp, photo reviews at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months. Your US dermatologist is welcome to communicate with our team directly.
Frequently Asked Questions — American Patients
Can I finance the hair transplant, or does it have to be paid upfront?
The full package is paid before or at arrival — we do not offer in-house financing. However, many US patients use their existing credit cards (travel rewards cards work well here), CareCredit, or personal medical loans from their US bank. Because the total cost is so much lower than a domestic procedure, out-of-pocket or single-card payment is feasible for most patients even without financing.
Is a hair transplant in Turkey tax-deductible in the United States?
Hair transplants are generally classified as cosmetic procedures by the IRS and are therefore not deductible as a medical expense. That said, tax law is nuanced — if hair loss is related to a documented medical condition (alopecia areata, for example), partial deductibility may apply. We strongly recommend consulting a US tax adviser before making any claims. We can provide official invoices and procedure documentation to support any submission your accountant may require.
How do I pay in US dollars? Do you accept USD?
Yes. Quotes can be issued in USD and we accept USD by bank wire transfer. We also accept EUR and GBP. Credit card payments (Visa, Mastercard) are accepted at a small processing surcharge. Cryptocurrency is not currently accepted. Your bank’s international transfer fee is typically $25–$45 — factor this into your total cost calculation.
Is Global Health Hair accredited in a way recognised by US insurance?
US health insurance does not cover cosmetic procedures regardless of where they are performed, so international accreditation is not relevant to reimbursement. Global Health Hair operates under Turkish Ministry of Health licensing, which carries equivalent regulatory rigour to US state medical board oversight. Dr. Çelik’s ISHRS membership is the most meaningful credential for international patients — it is the same body that certifies top surgeons in New York and Beverly Hills.
What if I need a follow-up or have a complication after returning to the US?
Significant complications after FUE are rare (infection rate below 1% in our clinic). Should any concern arise, our team is reachable via WhatsApp 7 days a week. For any in-person need, we recommend attending a US dermatologist — most are familiar with post-FUE care and can coordinate with us remotely. In the unlikely event of a revision requirement, this is assessed on a case-by-case basis and we have assisted remote patients with return visits at reduced cost.
