A beard transplant moves your own hair — usually from the back of the scalp — into the areas of your face where it does not grow. Why does a beard transplant cost the same as a hair transplant?
Because what you are paying for is not the number of grafts. It is the operation itself, the surgeon’s time, your stay and the twelve months of follow-up afterwards — and those are the same whether the grafts go into a scalp or a jawline.
This is worth stating plainly, because a beard usually needs far fewer grafts than a full scalp restoration, and it is reasonable to ask why the price does not drop with it. The answer is that a beard is more demanding per graft, not less. Facial hair grows at sharper, more varied angles than scalp hair, and each graft has to be placed to match the direction of the hair already around it. There is no area where the surgeon can work quickly. Fewer grafts, more time on each one.

Who actually performs the procedure?
Dr. Merdan Çelik, MD. He qualified in medicine at Trakya University School of Medicine in 1997 (diploma no. 1816), has been on the Turkish state medical register since 1998 (no. 88616), and holds the Turkish Ministry of Health’s Aesthetic Medicine Practice Certificate, issued in 2005 (no. 1111). He has practised for more than 22 years and has treated over 20,000 patients personally.
We are specific about this for a reason. In a large part of the Turkish hair transplant market the incisions and the implantation are carried out by technicians, with a doctor present in a supervisory role or not present at all. That is legal in some arrangements and it is how the lowest prices are reached. It is also the single question a patient is least likely to think of asking. To be equally clear about what he is not: Dr. Çelik holds no specialist board diploma. He is a licensed physician certified in aesthetic medicine who performs these procedures himself. We would rather tell you that than let you assume otherwise.
Will a transplanted beard look natural?
It depends almost entirely on angle and density, and both are decisions made during the operation rather than afterwards.
Facial hair lies flat against the skin and grows outward at an acute angle. Scalp hair does not. If donor hair is implanted at scalp angles it will stand away from the face, and no amount of trimming corrects it — the direction is set when the graft goes in. This is the main reason beard work is judged on the surgeon’s placement rather than on the technology used.
Density is the second decision. A beard that is implanted too densely reads as artificial, because real beards are uneven — thicker along the jaw, sparser on the cheeks, with a natural irregularity at the border. Matching that irregularity is deliberate work.
Which areas can be treated?
The cheeks, the jawline, the chin, the moustache area, the sideburns, and scarred patches where hair no longer grows. Many patients come for one area rather than a full beard — filling a gap on one cheek, thickening a patchy jaw, or covering a scar. A consultation establishes which areas are worth treating and which will fill in on their own.
What does recovery look like?
Small crusts form around each implanted hair within the first day and clear over roughly the first week. Swelling, if it appears, is usually in the first two to three days. Most patients are presentable in public within about ten days, though the visible timeline depends on your own healing and on how much of the face was treated.
Then comes the part that surprises people: the transplanted hairs fall out. This happens within the first few weeks and it is expected — the follicle stays in place and re-grows. New growth typically begins at around three to four months, and the final result is judged at twelve months. Am I a suitable candidate?
The requirement is a usable donor area, which for most patients is the back and sides of the scalp. Beyond that it is a clinical judgement: the pattern of the gaps, the quality of the donor hair, and whether the patchiness is stable or still changing. If your facial hair is still developing, waiting is often the better advice — and we will say so.

Do you also perform eyebrow transplants?
Yes. Eyebrow work uses a different technique — Long FUE, where the grafts are taken without shaving the donor area, so the direction and curl of each individual hair are visible at the moment it is implanted.
