Quick summary: We collected the hair transplant prices that clinics publish in the UK, Scotland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Most of them price by the graft or by a graft band, so the bill grows with the size of the area treated. Most UK patients pay £3,500 to £6,000, and one UK clinic reports an average of £4,820 for 1,500 grafts. In Istanbul, Global Health Hair charges a fixed all-inclusive price whatever the number of grafts: €1,990 for Sapphire FUE and €2,175 for DHI, with hotel, transfers, medication and 12 months of follow-up included. Dr. Merdan Çelik, MD personally performs the incisions, the extraction and the implantation. Every European figure below links to the clinic page it comes from.
How much does a hair transplant cost in Europe compared with Turkey?

These are published prices, not quotes. A clinic’s final price depends on your case, and the figures above are the ranges the clinics themselves display.
How are prices structured in each country?
United Kingdom
UK prices cover the widest range in the study. One London clinic’s analysis of UK pricing gives a span from £1,995 to £15,000 and an average of £4,820 for a 1,500-graft procedure, which works out at about £3.25 per graft. A second UK clinic states that most patients pay between £3,500 and £6,000 for 1,500 to 3,500 grafts. Because UK clinics lean on per-graft pricing, a patient with advanced hair loss needing 3,500 or 4,000 grafts moves towards the top of that range. Our detailed Turkey versus UK comparison covers quality, regulation and aftercare, not only price.
Scotland
Local guides for Glasgow and Edinburgh publish prices per session rather than per graft: £3,000 to £7,000 for one session of up to about 3,000 grafts, and £8,000 to £14,000 when two sessions are needed. The practical point for a larger case is that a second session can double the bill. See the guide for Scottish patients for the flight and trip details.
Ireland
Dublin clinics publish ranges from about €3,000 to €8,500. One clinic with sites in Dublin and Cork states that FUE procedures generally range from €4,000 to €7,500, and another advertises single-day FUE from €3,500. The guide for Irish patients explains the flight from Dublin and what the trip involves.
Netherlands
Dutch clinics tend to publish graft-band price lists. One clinic shows €4,300 for 1,000 grafts, €5,800 for 2,000 and €6,600 for 3,000, and says a treatment costs between €3,000 and €10,000. A second clinic shows €4,999 for 2,000 grafts and €5,899 for 3,000. One commercial advice site reports roughly €6,500 to €8,500 for 3,000 grafts, which shows how much the figure depends on the source. The guide for Dutch patients has the details for travelling from Amsterdam.
Sweden, Norway and Denmark
Swedish clinics publish packages from about SEK 38,000, for example SEK 43,000 for 1,000 grafts and SEK 68,000 for 3,500 grafts with FUE at one clinic. For Norway we found only one published range, NOK 50,000 to 83,000 including VAT for an Oslo clinic, and it comes from a clinic directory, not from the clinic’s own site. Danish clinics publish starting prices by graft band, from DKK 25,000 to DKK 55,000. All three countries have non-stop flights to Istanbul of under four hours; see the guide for Scandinavian patients.
Why does the final bill grow in Europe but not in Istanbul?
In most of the price lists above, the price rises with the graft count or with the number of sessions. That structure suits a clinic whose cost per patient rises with every graft, and it means the quote you receive depends on how large your area of loss is. At Global Health Hair the price is fixed per procedure whatever the number of grafts. The reason is how the clinic works: Dr. Çelik, MD treats a maximum of three patients a day and personally performs the incisions, the extraction and the implantation, so the cost is per operating session, not per graft.
For a patient this changes the question to ask. In Europe the question is usually “how many grafts will I need, and what does each band cost?” In Istanbul at Global Health Hair it is “is my case suitable, and what is the fixed price?” You can see the full breakdown on our hair transplant cost guide for Turkey.
Why is a hair transplant cheaper in Turkey?
The difference reflects operating costs in Turkey, such as salaries, rent and clinic overheads. It is not a difference in the technique itself: Sapphire FUE and DHI are techniques used by clinics in many countries. What does vary between clinics, in Turkey and in Europe, is who performs the surgery. In many high-volume clinics technicians carry out part of the extraction and implantation. At Global Health Hair, Dr. Merdan Çelik, MD personally performs the incisions, the extraction and the implantation. Our guide to doctor versus technician in Turkey explains how to check this at any clinic.
What does the Istanbul price include?
- The procedure, Sapphire FUE or DHI, at a fixed price whatever the number of grafts
- Three nights’ hotel accommodation in Istanbul
- All airport and clinic transfers
- Medication and the full aftercare kit
- Twelve months of follow-up with the clinic
The only cost you add is your return flight. For a patient flying from the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands or Scandinavia, a non-stop flight takes between about three and a half and four and a half hours.
How do you compare a European quote with a Turkish one fairly?
A price on its own is not enough to compare. Before you decide, put the same questions to every clinic:
- Is the price per graft, per band, per session or fixed? A low per-graft price can become a high total.
- How many grafts does the quote cover? Ask for the graft number your case needs, not the starting band.
- What is included? Hotel, transfers, medication and aftercare are included at Global Health Hair. Elsewhere, some are charged separately.
- Who performs the surgery? Ask who makes the incisions, who extracts the grafts and who implants them.
- What follow-up is included, and for how long? At Global Health Hair it is 12 months.
- What does the total trip cost? Add the flight to a Turkish quote and compare it with a European quote that includes no travel.
Who is a European clinic still the better choice for?
Staying close to home has real advantages, and we would rather you chose with the full picture. A local clinic means no international flight, no language barrier and easy access to the surgeon for check-ups. If you need a small touch-up, or you cannot travel, a local clinic may suit you better. A trip to Istanbul makes most sense when the price difference is large for your case and you are comfortable travelling for a few days.
Frequently asked questions
How much cheaper is a hair transplant in Turkey than in the UK?
UK clinics publish prices from £1,995 to £15,000, and most patients pay £3,500 to £6,000. At Global Health Hair the fixed price is €1,990 for Sapphire FUE and €2,175 for DHI, all-inclusive, so the saving depends on the size of your case and on which UK clinic you compare.
Is the Istanbul price really fixed whatever the number of grafts?
Yes. The price covers the procedure whatever the number of grafts, with hotel, transfers, medication, the aftercare kit and 12 months of follow-up included. Only the return flight is extra.
Do Scandinavian clinics charge more than Turkish clinics?
The Scandinavian prices we found are published by graft band and range from about SEK 38,000 to 68,000 in Sweden, NOK 50,000 to 83,000 in Norway and DKK 25,000 to 55,000 in Denmark. Global Health Hair’s fixed price is €1,990 or €2,175 in euros, so you can compare it directly with your own quote.
Can I fly home the day after surgery?
We do not recommend it. The day after the procedure includes the first wash and aftercare instruction at the clinic, which is the part that most affects graft survival.
How do I get a fixed price for my case?
Send photographs of your hairline and donor area on WhatsApp. Dr. Çelik, MD assesses them and you receive a graft estimate and a fixed all-inclusive price, with no obligation.
